about me

Hello all! I'm MC Martin. A fashion, crafting and photography obsessed Texan thats married to an incredible fisherman and mommy to a life-loving baby girl.

five random facts about me

1. I hate doing dishes more than anything else in the whole world. And it really doesn't help that we are dishwasher-less. There are things that you take from your childhood and decide whether or not you will do the same when you have kids or do the complete opposite... I was blessed to have a mother who cleaned the dishes every night after dinner... as for my family, the second those kidos can utter the word fork, they will be scrubbing them dang dishes!!!

2. I've attempted to eat paleo, mainly to get rid of that beautiful pregnancy fluff I gained, but also to become more aware of what I cram into my mouth. I'd say I've been pretty good at it so far but you bet your butt if you take me to a mexican food restarant I will gladly wear the words cheater across my forehead. "Large Bob with a side of jalapenos, onions and cilontro please!"

3. My full name is Mary Catherine. I have never gone by it and never plan to. I think it is beautiful, but simply its just not me. Not even my family calls me that. They do however stray from MC every now and then and call me Emma. Yes, Emma. I don't know why but somehow it just came to be. My husband calls me Stinky and my dad calls me Tootie... I don't know what this says about me but the reasons behind those names are not part of my facts. :)

4. I didn't learn to cook until I was married. The first time Joe came to my apartment we attempted to make pasta. All I owned was one small pot... it didn't go over well, but luckily he wasn't attracted to me for my skills in the kitchen. Unfortunately a 6'3" man needs more than just random leftovers or jalapenos for breakfast... Things had to change once we said "I do." ... and they did... I'm a rockstar in the kitchen now!

5. I have had dark hair twice in my life. Once while I was pregnant and the other when I was a freshman-sophmore in college. I enjoyed my recent ombre hair, even though I am more comfortable as a blonde... as for the rebellious stretched ears and black hair look I attempted to rock... that can be one for the memories and the laughs. yikes!

I met my amazing husband Joe 3 January of 2009. Not to sound like a complete dork, but it was pretty much love at first sight. We spent every breath together outside of work.. and then some. We spent late nights crafting and tanning deer hides together. And as the romantic story would have it, we had date nights at the end of a private runway and watched old glider planes practice their landings. We spent the summers in Alaska and in July of 2010 while overlooking an Alaskan glacier, he asked me to marry him. Six months later it was official. And since we were already on the fast train to becoming "mature" {wink, wink} we decided to add a baby to the mix! And thats how it happened my friends. July 19, 2012 our baby girl, Sadie Bray, was born... and the story keeps getting better and better!
